Project Brief:

DVAA had the privilege of designing a remarkable film studio and corporate headquarters for Majordomo Media, led by renowned chef David Chang. Located within the iconic ROW LA, a historic adaptive-reuse project situated in the former Los Angeles Terminal Market, the space carries a rich heritage as the former largest wholesale produce market globally. The project encompasses two film kitchens, a greenroom, open offices, and a podcast studio, all meticulously crafted to cater to the needs of a dynamic media production environment. The existing construction, primarily concrete, provides a robust foundation for the space. Materials such as stained wood, reeded glass, patinaed steel, ceramic tile, and painted finishes are skillfully incorporated to create a harmonious blend of textures and aesthetics. The Majordomo project stands as a testament to the seamless fusion of functional design and historical significance, providing an inspiring setting where culinary creativity and media production converge.
