Project Brief:

The Edgemar Complex in Santa Monica, currently under renovation by DVAA as the Architect, is a former live theater being transformed into a vibrant creative office space. Designed by renowned architect Frank Gehry in the 1980s, the complex features original bow-trusses and clerestory windows, capturing the historical charm. With a mix of steel, wood, and concrete materials, it exudes an industrial aesthetic with a touch of Mid-century warmth. Situated near the beach and the site of a former power station, the Edgemar Complex seamlessly combines history and contemporary design, offering an inspiring environment for creativity and collaboration.
